What is
Emmi?
Emmi (Expectation Management and Medical Information) is a series
of online, interactive risk management programs that walk patients
through every step of their upcoming surgery. The program helps
set patient expectations from pre-op to post-op, including risks,
benefits and alternatives.
Developed by Emmi Solutions in conjunction with Allergan,
Emmi is very simple to use, conversational in tone and built using
easy-to-understand language. As the patient interacts with Emmi,
each click is recorded to create a permanent record of everything
the patient saw, heard and did while viewing the program to provide
definitive proof that they have been fully educated and informed.
In addition, patients can view Emmi as many times as they like and
share it with family and friends.
Two Emmi Programs for LAP-BAND®
EmmiPrep™, viewed before surgery, prepares patients by giving them a step-by-step explanation of their anatomy and the procedure. It educates patients on commonly known risks as well as pre-op instructions and recovery.
EmmiSuccess™ is a three-part series for post-op patients: Part One covers the first four to six weeks after surgery; Part Two explains adjustments; and Part Three introduces patients to lifestyle changes they may experience with the LAP-BAND® System by providing eating and exercise guidelines and answering common questions.
